You do not need every feature on day one. Follow these steps to run through write → organize → find → read / share.
1. Create your first note
- Tap + on the list (on desktop you can also use the command palette)
- Enter a title on the first line and Markdown body; line numbers on the left help you locate and rearrange lines
- Open Preview anytime to see the rendered result
- Content auto-saves; you rarely need to save by hand
On mobile you can also Share text / links into aNote, or create a note from a home-screen quick action.
2. Organize (spaces + tags)
- Put the note in a single-level space
- Add tags in Properties; nest with
parent/child, e.g.Work/Project - Prefer “space for scope, tags for detail” instead of adding more folders
3. Find it again
- Use list Search; you can also filter by date or pin important notes
- While editing, use Recently opened to jump between notes (centered overlay on desktop)
- The app restores reading, scroll, and editing position when it can
4. Read, export, or share
- Preview: jump sections with the outline; trust preview for complex layout
- Export PDF: from preview (or the command palette / shortcut on desktop), with heading bookmarks; from PDF preview you can print
- Screenshot: capture a full page or long image from the current preview render (album save depends on OS permissions)
- Youlog: create or update a web share from More, then distribute the link
- Site publish (optional): turn a space into a static site via preview / export / deploy in the app. aNote covers the basic path; themes and advanced config live at Everkm Publish
5. Make writing smoother
- Mobile: use the keyboard toolbar for cursor, selection, symbols, and the command palette; open Extensions for
Text Actionswhen needed - Desktop: lean on the command palette, recent notes, and list keyboard navigation; tune UI / editor font sizes and shortcuts in Settings
- Backup: import or export notes (including ZIP) from Settings
After this, you already have a stable path for writing, organizing, exporting, and sharing with aNote.
